Providing muscular engine output, high-tech performance features, and both fastback and convertible designs to choose from, the 2025 Ford Mustang has many impressive things to offer, including these five bold standouts.
1. A 3-Second 5.0L V8
This edition’s three engines are all impressive and include a 315-horsepower EcoBoost 2.3-liter I-4 and two 5.0-liter V8s: one with 480 horsepower that comes with GT models and a modified one that’s specially tuned to deliver 500 horses. Both V8s generate 418 pound-feet of torque, but the specially tuned 500-horsepower engine, which comes standard with the Dark Horse trim along with many other track-ready features, is a standout with its stronger horsepower and estimated 3-second 0 to 60 MPH time.
2. SYNC 4 Infotainment
The vehicle’s standard infotainment system, SYNC 4, provides all your entertainment and informational needs on a large full-color 13.2-inch centerstack touchscreen display. Among its many functions, this system pairs with a Wi-Fi hotspot to provide wireless connectivity for smartphones, access to apps, over-the-air updates, and, in select trims, you can opt for voice-activated navigation support with pinch-to-zoom capability for viewing maps. Also, with the included Track Apps, you can keep track of acceleration, lap times, and other performance metrics.
3. Line-Lock Takeoffs
The standard Line-Lock feature is easily one of the boldest offered with this edition, as it lets you lock the front brakes when pressing the accelerator while still allowing the rear wheels to spin freely. This allows the rear wheels to warm up at the track, leading to enhanced traction for strong takeoffs. You can pair this feature with Launch Control, which is also standard and optimizes takeoffs even further by managing brake pressure, performance output, and traction systems.
4. Multiple Drive Modes
Different driving conditions and scenarios call for different performance settings, which is why every 2025 model comes with Selectable Drive Modes. This feature puts multiple driving modes at your fingertips by allowing you to select them using steering wheel-mounted controls or the vehicle’s touchscreen, which include Normal, Slippery, Sport, Track, Drag Strip, and Custom modes. There are also specialized modes to adjust steering, suspension, and exhaust performance as preferred.
5. First-Class Seating
Even the many seating options are impressive and, depending on the trim level, the front seats are either bucket or sport seats and have both heating and cooling functions in all trims other than the base EcoBoost Fastback trim. While this base trim comes with cloth upholstery for the seats, other trims have either cloth with vinyl trim, ActiveX material, Recaro leather, or Recaro microsuede, and a convenient 60/40 rear split-folding bench seat comes standard.
